RubberDucks Outfielder Ryan Cesarini named August Player of the Month

(AKRON, OHIO) September 3, 2026 – Akron RubberDucks outfielder Ryan Cesarini was named Eastern League Player of the Month for August.

Cesarini hit .356/.406/.805 during the month while leading the Eastern League in home runs (11), RBI (25), total bases (70), slugging percentage and OPS (1.211). He was second in the EL in batting average and hits (31) while ranking third in runs scored (21). He had 10 multi-hit games during the month, including a career-high four hit game against Harrisburg on August 23 at 7 17 Credit Union Park. He also posted three multi-home run games during the month.

Cesarini earned Eastern League Player of the Week honors during Week 20 (Aug. 10-16). During that week, he picked up nine hits in four games played against the Altoona Curve batting .474 (9-for-19) with six home runs and 11 RBI. He led the Eastern League during the week in batting average, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage (1.421), OPS (1.921), hits, extra-base hits (six) and total bases (27).

This is the first time a member of the RubberDucks has earned Player of the Month honors this season. Cesarini is joined by Columbus Clippers first baseman Ralphy Velazquez (International League) and Lake County Captains right-hander Jacob Zibin (Midwest League) as members of the Guardians organization to earn Player or Pitcher of the Month honors in August.

Drafted by the Guardians in the 14th round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of St. Joseph’s, the 23-year-old Cesarini is in his first season with the RubberDucks. Since being promoted to Akron on July 17, he is batting .331 with eight doubles, 13 home runs, 34 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 32 games.

The Akron RubberDucks continue their series at 7 17 Credit Union Park against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Thursday, September 3 at 6:35 p.m.
