COLUMBUS, Ga. – Minor League Baseball today named Columbus Clingstones infielder Jordan Groshans the Southern League Player of the Week for August 24-30.

The award marks the first weekly honor of Groshans' professional career and makes him the ninth Columbus Clingstones player in franchise history to receive a weekly league award.

Groshans 26, earned the recognition following a strong series at Chattanooga where he batted .423 (11-for-26) with a double, a triple, four home runs, nine RBI, a 1.000 slugging percentage and a 1.429 OPS over six games at Erlanger Park. Groshans homered in four of the six games, including multi-hit performances on Friday (4-for-5) and Sunday (3-for-5). He finished the series with an active 19-game hit streak, the longest in the Southern League this season.

Originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 12th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, Groshans signed with Atlanta as a Minor League free agent on January 23, 2026. Across 103 games with Columbus this season, he has batted .282 with 18 doubles, six triples, 30 home runs, 81 RBI, and a .932 OPS. On Sunday, Groshans became only the second Atlanta Braves' Double-A player to record 30 home runs in one season, joining Leo Vargas, who hit 32 home runs for Double-A Savannah in 1981. He holds the Clingstones single-season records for both home runs and RBI.

The Clingstones return to Synovus Park for their final six-game homestand of the regular season against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos from September 1-6. First pitch for the series opener on Tuesday is scheduled for 7:06 p.m. ET. Fans can listen live on SportsVisions 92.1 FM or stream on Bally Sports Live and MiLB.TV.
