MANCHESTER, NH – First baseman Peyton Williams homered in his return to New Hampshire, but the Fisher Cats (24-40, 58-73) fell in the Tuesday opener at Delta Dental Stadium to the Harrisburg Senators (31-31, 65-66), 11-1. Despite the loss, four Fisher Cats pitchers combined to strike out 14 batters and center Alexis Hernandez extended his on-base streak to 19.
New Hampshire starter Johnny King (L, 0-2) struck out five batters but allowed four runs on seven hits in 3-1/3 innings. Right-hander Alex Amalfi followed with 3-2/3 innings of one-run ball and six strikeouts. Reliever Jonathan Todd struck out two but was tagged for six runs in 1-2/3 innings, and Devereaux Harrison recorded the final out of the ninth on a strikeout, the Cats’ 14th of the game.
Harrisburg starter Josh Randall (W, 5-6) fired a quality start in the series opener. Randall struck out four and allowed four hits across six scoreless frames. Reliever Jhancarlos Lara tossed a scoreless seventh and Sandy Gaston kept the shutout intact with a strong eighth. Luke Young allowed Williams’ homer but secured the final out of the game.

Harrisburg struck first in the top of the second. Following a leadoff walk from right fielder Elijah Green, left fielder TJ White (7) swatted a two-run homer and made it 2-0.
In the top of the fourth, the Senators opened the frame with a White single and Kevin Bazzell double. The next batter, Kevin Made, laced a two-run single. Made’s strong night continued in the sixth as the third baseman singled and scored on a wild pitch, 5-0.
Harrisburg blew the game open with six runs between the eighth and ninth inning. The innings were highlighted by three solo home runs hit by Bazzell (1), center fielder Nick Mitchell (6), and second baseman Devin Fitz-Gerald (6).
Trailing 11-0, New Hampshire avoided the shutout on a Williams (1) ninth-inning homer.
New Hampshire and Harrisburg continue their six-game series on Wednesday, September 9, with first pitch slated for 6:03 PM. Right-hander Jackson Wentworth (7-8, 5.20 ERA) will start for the Cats, and the Senators will counter with lefty Josh Hartle (4-5, 3.59 ERA).
