Columbus added another run in the seventh when Alex Lodise singled home Eric Hartman to make it 2-0.
Montgomery answered in the bottom of the seventh. Connor Hujsak lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Jared Oliva and cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The Biscuits were unable to complete the comeback, as Columbus held on for the 2-1 victory.
Hujsak logged the lone RBI with a sacrifice fly. Mac Horvath went 1-for-4, notching the only hit for the Biscuits.
Jackson Baumeister started for Montgomery and suffered the loss, falling to 4-6. He worked 5.2 innings, allowing seven hits and one earned run while striking out eight and walking two. Jonny Cuevas followed with 1.1 innings, allowing one earned run on one hit with one strikeout. Tommy McCollum worked 2.0 scoreless innings and struck out two.
