'Gades falter in final moments, lose two-straight to Keys
Wappingers Falls, NY – The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped a heartbreaker to the Frederick Keys on Wednesday at Heritage Financial Park, 5-4. Hudson Valley led for the first eight innings but fell behind by a run in the top of the ninth when Frederick scored three runs on two hits.

Hudson Valley led for the first eight innings but fell behind by a run in the top of the ninth when Frederick scored three runs on two hits. It was the first time this year that the Renegades lost after leading through eight innings. The team had been 11-0 in such games.
Frederick rallied after a throwing error to start the ninth, the fourth error by the Renegades in the first two games of the week after committing no errors in six games last week.
The Renegades have lost the first two games of the series to the Keys after winning four of six games at Nymeo Field in April in the first meeting between the teams.
Renegades pitching struck out 12 batters, eight of which were recorded by Luis Serna.
2B Enmanuel Tejeda (1-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI) homered in his second game in High-A.
Tejeda extended his on-base streak to 28 games and has hits in each of his first two games with the Renegades.
LF Cole Gabrielson (2-2, 2B, 2 BB) reached base safely all four times he came up to the plate.
Gabrielson ripped his second double of the season 106.8 mph off the bat to left field in the second.
Gabrielson’s home average increased to .348 (8-for-23).
RF Wilson Rodriguez (1-for-3, R, 2 BB, SB) extended his on-base streak to seven straight games.
Rodriguez is 9-for-24 (.375) over the stretch with 2 2B, 5 RBI, and 4 R.
DH Eric Genther (1-for-4, 2B, BB, R, K) extended his on-base streak to seven straight games.
Genther is batting just 3-for-18 (.167) over the streak but has drawn four walks.
Genther is 8-for-21 (.381) against the Keys this season.
3B Roderick Arias (1-for-3, R, BB, SB) has gotten on base in 15 of his last 16 games.
Arias is 12-for-51 (.235) across the 16 games with 9 BB, 2 extra-base hits, and 10 RBI.
RHP Luis Serna (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) struck out a season second-best eight batters.
Serna did not allow a run to score through his first 4.2 IP. He has allowed 2 ER-or-fewer in five of his six starts this season.
Over his last three starts, Serna has posted a 1.08 ERA (16.2 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 9 BB, 21 K).
This was Serna’s second quality start of the season, and his first since 4/9 vs Wilmington.
