June 26, 2026 — EUGENE, Ore.: Facing off in a battle of strong pitching, the Everett AquaSox fell to the Eugene Emeralds 4-3 in walk-off fashion at PK Park on Friday night during the fifth game of the six-game Northwest League series.
Each team found the scoring column in the second inning, exchanging solo home runs to knot the score 1-1. Brandon Eike drilled his 13th long ball of the season for Everett — tying Josh Caron for the team lead — and Carlos Gutierrez smacked his eighth long ball of the season to equalize the contest. Eike’s home run was also Everett’s 100th of the 2026 season.

Eugene jumped ahead by two in the bottom of the third inning, taking a 3-1 advantage. With two runners on base, Gavin Kilen drove home the go-ahead run with an RBI double, and Jakob Christian cushioned the lead by hitting a sacrifice fly to the foul territory in right field.
The game evolved into a pitching duel from there as neither team scored beyond the bottom of the third. Everett’s Evan Truitt spun five innings of three-run baseball, and relieving him was Sam Whiting, who threw one scoreless frame. For the Emeralds, left-hander Jacob Bresnahan threw six innings of one-run ball, allowing just three hits while striking out seven and walking only one.
Everett threatened in the top of the seventh inning as Caron singled, Eike singled, and Carlos Jimenez walked to load the bases with zero outs. Caron scored by way of a passed ball to bring the Frogs within a run of the Emeralds, and both Eike and Jimenez advanced a base on the play. Tying the game was Curtis Washington Jr., who hit an RBI single that stayed in the infield to keep the game alive 3-3.
Kilen ultimately played hero for the Emeralds in the bottom of the seventh, hitting a walk-off RBI double to right field that scored Trevor Cohen, who lined a one-out single. With their win, Eugene now has won two games in the six-game series thus far.
